We have a lovely open plan living area with a woodburner at one end and the dining area at the other end.
The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, large fridge/freezer and microwave oven. There is a good selection of chefs’ pans plus crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils. There is an electric kettle and toaster, teapot and cafetiere. Many people enjoy baking whilst they are staying at Seilisdeir, so we also have weighing scales, mixing bowls and a wide variety of cake, loaf and muffin tins.
We have recently moved the dining room from the conservatory to where the old kitchen used to be, and now it looks out over the front garden and loch – great for catching the sunsets.
In the sitting room, four large picture windows provide a superb view over the loch, through which the scenery is constantly changing. There is a large flat screen digital TV and DVD player, plus a good selection of DVDs. Please feel free to bring your own too. CDs can also be played through the DVD player. TV reception is good and the TV will also pick up Freeview channels and radio stations.
The conservatory is a great place for relaxing and catching the sun in the morning. Outside there is a picnic bench and table on the lawn for those sunny days.
Seilisdeir has its own fenced off garden within a large plot of nearly an acre and parking for several cars. There is a very small burn (stream) running down the side of the garden which is usually dry in the summer. Although it is fully fenced it isn’t deer proof – so it allows the deer in but doesn’t let your dogs out! The owners have accommodation in the garden so are on hand if you need anything.
